After meeting with my group once again, we laid out exactly what points we hope to cover in our essays in order to determine what is the best way to link everything together. We decided to do the presentation in a somewhat chronological order with Carolyn going first as she would be talking about the past. Her paper will discuss the past and present about vaccine protest and opposition.
After discussing with my group, we decided to write this chapter in a chronological format, beginning with the past, present, and the future of vaccine development, resistance, and research. I will be responsible for the future aspect, which will analyze the development of vaccines in the past and compare them to the current timeline that we are in in an attempt to produce a COVID-19 vaccine.
As we are currently living through a pandemic, which has caused radical changes to our lifestyle, my blogs have revolved around the data, the science, and the impact of this disease. Since we are living in a world where we have such rapid transmission of information a lot of information that gets shared can be inaccurate.
The release of the move Spaceship Earth during a time like this is quite appropriate because of the multiple crises that we are facing today.
As the COVID-19 outbreak continues to spread throughout the country and the rest of the world, citizens have become anxious about when and how we will see a return to normalcy. Scientists and health experts agree however, that in order to get to the pre-COVID normalcy that we yearn for, there will need to be some sort of vaccine or therapeutic drug that puts the virus away for good (Stump, 2020).
2020, the year of the rat according to the Chinese Zodiac, has started off like no other. With the COVID-19 pandemic breaking out from Wuhan, China, the disease has now spread across the world resulting in 2.4 million cases and over 165,00 deaths thus far. The level of contagion that this disease has never quite been seen before and we are still learning about the virus itself everyday.
As the novel coronavirus continues to grow and spread across the world, a significant portion is under some form of stay-at-home order from local and federal governments. Citizens around the world are either prohibited from or strongly discouraged to leave the home and it is recommended that individuals limit their trips to essential businesses, such as grocery stores, as well.
